MUNICH, Germany, May 2 /PRNewswire/ — Symlabs, a global leader in virtual directory, LDAP, and federated identity solutions, will be exhibiting and participating in several venues at the 1st European Identity Conference 2007 running from May 7th through 10th in Munich. Two key contributors to the identity management community, Sampo Kellomaki and Felix Gaehtgens, both principals at Symlabs, will offer their expertise in panel discussions and workshops that are sure to provide a wealth of information.

Speaking in the Identity Federation & User-Centrism track, Sampo will discuss Trends In Open Source Identity Management on May 8th, with a focus on OpenID and OpenLiberty. "Openness comes from standards-based interoperability and royalty-free licensing that allows anyone who can implement the specification to enter the market, and open source adds the benefit of customization enabled by source code access," said Sampo Kellomaki, Identity Architect at Symlabs. "Further, user-centrism is about putting control in the hands of the user. For example, Liberty ID-WSF (Web Services Framework) is an open, standards-based specification that enables user-centrism by providing various protocol flows to give users control and consent to the sharing of their identity." Sampo supports the Implementing Secure Liberty Alliance Web Services workshop on May 10th, and Felix will discuss Virtual Directories & SOA plus he will speak about High Availability in the SOA, Federation & Identity As A Service track on May 9th.

In addition, Symlabs will demonstrate the latest versions of their Virtual Directory Server, LDAP Proxy, and Federated Identity Suite at booth G1 in the exhibition area. Symlabs' software solutions address a wide variety of identity management needs across a broad range of implementations, and include support for LDAP, Liberty, plus many vendor-specific standards. Symlabs also leverages their extensive experience with identity management systems from integration partners Microsoft, CA, Novell, Oracle, IBM, and Sun by offering professional services.
