Dr. Zimmerman's talk on Delivering 10GBASE-T Silicon will describe some of the technical challenges and applications of integrating first-generation 802.3an-2006 compliant devices for delivering 10 Gbps Ethernet over 100 meters of twisted pair copper. Emphasis will be given to testing transceiver implementations for robust performance on cabling, and to enable 10 Gbps Ethernet deployment to accelerate beyond engineered point-to-point connections into plug-and-play structured wiring applications. The use of 10Xpress(R) in high-density 10Gbps switches and low-profile high-performance NICs will be discussed.

"This Linley Tech Seminar is an important opportunity for OEMs to learn about Delivering 10GBASE-T Silicon, enabling them to move forward in designing their 10 Gigabit Ethernet systems, which will let their customers move to the next level of performance simply and cost-effectively," said Bruce Tolley, vice president of marketing at Solarflare. "Solarflare's 10GBASE-T server adapter reference design demonstration will show that 10GBASE-T is real, with 100 meter reach on Category 6A cabling with 4-connectors as required by the IEEE 802.3an-2006 standard."
