Epicor marks its 2007 B2 100 showing with the third highest revenue growth percentage (3-year annualized) among all software companies making this year's list, and at number 54 overall. Business 2.0, published by Time Inc., selects winners based on past three years of growth in revenue, profit and operating cash flow, in addition to 12-month stock return.
"We're extremely pleased and honored to again be recognized as one of the fastest-growing technology companies by Business 2.0 magazine," said George Klaus, chairman and CEO of Epicor. "We enjoyed a record breaking 2006, culminating in our first ever $100 million-plus revenue quarter, and were thrilled to start off our first quarter of 2007 with another $100 million-plus in sales. Our success is made possible by the commitment of our employees to deliver innovative technology, software, services and support, which directly meets the business needs at a low total cost of ownership of our focused target markets and customers around the world."
Epicor has received a number of notable honors during the first five months of 2007, most recently being named one of START-IT magazine's 2007 Hottest Companies — the companies named Hot in 2007 are technology providers targeting the manufacturing industry that have shown good financial results, important client wins, and significant events and accomplishments during the past year that help set a company apart from the competition. Other 2007 recognitions include "CEO of the Year" from the Technology Council of Southern California, START-IT's CEO Visionaries and Supply & Demand Chain Executive's "Pro's to Know" list.
During the 2007 search for the B2 100 — published in the magazine's June issue — Business 2.0 screened more than 2,000 tech companies that have been publicly traded on a U.S. stock exchange for at least three years, have a market capitalization of at least $50 million, and have had positive operating cash flow over the past 12 months. Zacks Investment Research of Chicago ranked the resulting list using four financial criteria: growth in revenue, profit, and operating cash flow during the past three years, and the 12-month stock return as of December 31, 2006. Cash flow growth counts for 40 percent of a company's ranking, while each of the other criteria counts for 20 percent. Additional research was provided by Factset.
