The Glide Address Book, Calendar and built in communication tools are designed to connect family, friends and co-workers at home and when traveling and to improve the coordination of activities and scheduling. Glide's advanced file synchronization, format translation, file management and sharing tools work together with an automated message notification system making it a breeze to get your family and work life in sync.
You can synchronize your address book and calendars with your Windows, Mac and Linux PCs and share with family, friends and co-workers. Furthermore, Glide address books and calendars can be accessed and edited on RIM BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Palm and Symbian handsets. All participant address books and calendars are automatically updated when any changes are made to contact information, calendar events, conference schedules, meeting agendas etc. Participants also receive email, SMS and/or on-screen notifications with the ability to respond to the sender(s) and other participants. Glide's message notification system is designed to deliver notifications on three screens, the PC, TV and mobile handset.
A New Standard For Address Books
The Glide Address Book is your communication and sharing hub and is universally accessible throughout the Glide OS. The Glide Address Book provides exciting new personalized digital business cards to facilitate the easy exchange of contact information from your mobile handset or PC and an activity report for each contact in your address book that maintains a detailed record of and links to all of your shared communications including emails, chats, shared files, calendar events, invitations and more.
The Glide Address Book automatically synchronizes with Microsoft Outlook, the Mac Address Book and Thunderbird on Linux PCs. Contact cards, contact groups and address books can be shared with Glide users and non-users. All participant address books are automatically updated when any change is made to shared contact information and each address book owner receives email, SMS and/or on-screen notifications.
In addition to Glide's email, text, audio and video chat and sharing applications, Glide users can now access VoIP from Glide to make calls to local landline and mobile phones directly from their browsers and SMS text message when sharing files. Glide users can also for the first time access their AIM, MSN, Yahoo!, Google Talk, Skype, JAJAH, ICQ, IRC, Jabber, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, Groupwise, QQ, SILC, Sametime, SIMPLE, XMPP, Zephyr, and iChat accounts and initiate communication directly from the Glide Address Book.
"Glide makes it easy to share address books, magically keeps your address book up to date and makes it fun to design and exchange great looking personalized digital business cards with the option to add multimedia," said TransMedia Chairman and CEO, Donald Leka. "Glide even generates detailed activity reports for each contact in your address book. Effectively, we are bringing CRM tools to the consumer space and helping individuals to better organize and keep track of their lives. Finally, we are opening up Glide in ways that will directly benefit our users. Integrating popular communication tools is the first step."
A Major Step Forward for Family Calendar Management and Sharing
Your Glide calendars are private until you decide to share a calendar or calendar event with family, friends and co-workers. You can assign various access rights to your calendars and calendar events including, view, download and modify rights. You can also make your event calendars public and searchable in the Glide Society and even publish to a Glide website or blog.
Shared calendars are viewed with color-coded tabs for each user. You can type event details directly into the calendar. Previous event locations are stored and appear as you begin typing to reduce redundant data entry. Event specific weather forecasts are automatically generated and to-do/shopping lists come with a built in calculator. The Glide Calendar is a multimedia environment and users can add videos, music, photo collages, slideshows, music and video playlists and more to calendar events.
The Glide Calendar displays multiple calendars in day, week and month views. Glide also provides additional views that display only scheduling conflicts or scheduling opportunities. The scheduling opportunities calendar view can be sent to third parties to enter a mutually convenient meeting time in an open slot.
The Glide Calendar automatically synchronizes with Microsoft Outlook, the iCal on the Mac and Sunbird for Linux PCs and provides a built in message notification system when any changes are made to a calendar event. All event participant calendars are automatically updated. Calendar notifications are also sent via Glide emails, SMS messages and/or on-screen messages.
"Families are more overscheduled than ever before," said Mr. Leka. "With Glide Calendar, you can manage your time wisely. Everyone's schedules are instantly and easily synchronized in one place so that you can see and correct any conflicts seamlessly."
Glide Chat makes it easy and cost effective to have online meetings. Users can quickly communicate, share and collaborate across a myriad of file formats and operating systems with friends, family and co-workers.
Glide users can: — Communicate globally using live video, audio and text conferencing with anyone, anywhere, anytime; — schedule online meetings, create agendas and add files to review; — access all of your videos, audio, photos, documents, contacts, calendars and bookmarks synchronized with your local desktop and share in conference; — share files securely and view simultaneously using a simple drag and drop user interface, with built in rights management; — collaborate effectively with non-destructive editing and mark up tools that allow you to sketch directly on the shared public viewing space to get your point across.
"Glide Chat is a breeze to use when communicating with your family, friends and co-workers and is included in the price of a Glide Premium account for $99.95 per year. Solutions with less functionality can cost significantly more," said Mr. Leka. "In September, we will also add application sharing for real time collaborative editing."
Your Right to Privacy
"We are very focused on our customer relationship with Glide users and believe that our approach provides a level of privacy protection for consumers and businesses not available from other technology providers," said Trans Media Chairman and CEO, Donald Leka. "In light of recently announced acquisitions by tech giants of companies like Double Click and aQuantive that together have access to unprecedented amounts of private information and web- surfing habits that potentially can be exploited, Trans Media believes that its continued focus on user privacy rights presents another compelling reason for consumers and businesses to use Glide."
