LEXINGTON, Mass., July 18 /PRNewswire/ — Web development experts from Gomez Inc. next week will share strategies for testing and analyzing performance of applications developed in Ajax, the Web 2.0 technology for super-responsive, highly interactive web pages like Google Maps.
Patrick Lightbody, Gomez product manager and chief open source evangelist, and Ryan Breen, Gomez vice president of technology, will appear in separate engagements at the Ajax Experience Conference July 25-27 at the Grand Hyatt in San Francisco.
Lightbody will present "Strategies for Testing Ajax with Selenium" on Wednesday, July 25, from 3:05 to 4:05 p.m. Selenium is an open source tool for testing applications across virtually any web browser.
Breen will present "Ajax Performance Analysis: Employing the Latest Tools to Get the Job Done," also on Wednesday, July 25, from 4:35 to 5:35 p.m.
Rather than waiting for users to click for a new page, Ajax grabs small pieces of web server data behind the scenes, letting users work without interruption, conserving network bandwidth and improving usability. Ajax, however, puts new processing demands on the browser, an area often overlooked in traditional QA testing and performance monitoring.
"Gomez is leading the movement to optimize applications both processed in and experienced through the browser," said Lightbody. "This requires a thorough understanding of the newest and fastest-growing web technologies, of which Ajax is a prime example. We look forward to delving into best practices for testing and analyzing Ajax performance with interested developers."
