FABRIANO, Italy, July 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ – TIBCO Software Inc. (Nasdaq: TIBX) today announced that Elica, the worldwide leader in the manufacture of cooker hoods and associated technologies, has chosen its software as the standards-based platform for implementing a service-oriented architecture (SOA). With the creation of a sustainable services-based environment, Elica is looking to reduce IT costs by unlocking the value of existing systems; improve time-to-market of new service-based offerings; as well as provide a single view of business operations across the enterprise.
Massimo Lo Campo, CIO at Elica said: "TIBCO provides us with a comprehensive solution that helps connect and coordinate all of our IT assets, as well as play an integral role in the deployment of an SOA that fits our strategy now and well into the future. We short-listed TIBCO along with two other integration vendors, but BusinessWorks stood out because of its independent platform-neutral support for heterogeneous IT and SOA environments. This ensures we are not tied to any one vendor, ultimately giving us the power of choice."
Elica's intense acquisition activity and global OEM agreements have resulted in a number of disparate applications transferring files and data from third parties to core systems through point-to-point interfaces. Leveraging TIBCO BusinessWorks(TM) will help to increase efficiency by seamlessly enabling the integration and orchestration of disparate systems with minimal to no programming. The project will initially focus on integrating Elica's AS/400-based billing and ERP systems with order management to automatically feed data into its back-office systems. In addition, TIBCO BusinessWorks' Web-based interface will help to monitor systems and processes, enabling real-time information exchange to keep employees informed on critical issues.
Fabio Pulidori, senior vice president, EMEA, at TIBCO, said: "Leading companies across Europe recognise the benefits that an open, flexible integration backbone provide. With TIBCO BusinessWorks, organizations can easily take advantage of both a service-oriented and an event-driven architecture to make their IT environments more agile and adaptable to constantly changing business conditions. We welcome the opportunity to work with Elica to establish a world-class SOA foundation."
TIBCO Software Inc. (NASDAQ:TIBX) provides enterprise software that helps companies achieve service-oriented architecture (SOA) and business process management (BPM) success.
