"NEC has been successfully offering our customers open source infrastructure and application software solutions based on a close partnership with SpikeSource," said Kenji Ogawa, General Manager of Software Business Planning at NEC Corp. "The news that Microsoft will work together with SpikeSource to certify their leading open source solutions on the Windows platform will be well received by our customers and will greatly expand the opportunity for NEC to provide open source solutions."

SpikeSource delivers a portfolio of business-ready software solutions that includes CRM, content management, e-mail, business intelligence and collaboration applications developed by leading open source companies and projects. To bring these solutions to market, the company has developed the SpikeIgnite Platform, a set of tools and services that help simplify and automate these otherwise labor-intensive and complex tasks.
