PITTSBURGH, Aug. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — CIBER, Inc. (NYSE: CBR) has completed the redesign and redevelopment of the first of three hospital patient flow and capacity management applications for Pittsburgh-based TeleTracking Technologies, the leading provider of information technology (IT)-based automated patient flow solutions for hospitals and other large healthcare providers. CIBER redesigned the application, called TransportTracking(R), using service-oriented architecture (SOA) best practices and Microsoft's .NET 2.0 technology.
TransportTracking(R) uses a hospital's existing telephone network to request, receive, plan, and track hospital patient transport jobs — such as the need to transport a patient from his room to a physical therapy appointment — to enhance staff communication, reduce the number of late pick-ups, minimize schedule conflicts and missed appointments, and identify transport-related delays.
The TransportTracking(R) product is one application within TeleTracking's next-generation XT suite of products, which are undergoing redesign to deliver more benefits to customers. The software maker has achieved a compounded growth rate of 27 percent over the last three years. It was recently ranked 73rd by Healthcare Informatics magazine in its list of top 100 healthcare-focused IT companies, and was included in the magazine's "Up and Comers" category, which recognizes companies that are experiencing double-digit revenue growth.
CIBER and TeleTracking began their multi-million dollar partnership in October 2005 with the launch of the TransportTracking(R) redesign. CIBER provided a full range of IT outsourcing services, such as application development and management, project management, project delivery, and implementation services. CIBER completed the redesign, redevelopment, and product launch on schedule, and the application is now in use at numerous client sites, including two of the nation's largest facilities: Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., and WakeMed Health and Hospitals in Raleigh, N.C.
CIBER will provide the same services for the redesign of the remaining TeleTracking XT applications: BedTracking(R) and PreAdmitTracking with the electronic bedboard(R). The project and partnership are projected to run through 2009.
"CIBER's capability, scalability, and size were the factors that told us CIBER is the ideal partner for this project," said Anthony Sanzo, CEO, TeleTracking Technologies. "CIBER is a leading .NET development shop and offers a mature practice with a proven track record. They quickly put together the facility, infrastructure, methodologies, and risk mitigation strategies we needed. As we expand into new markets, CIBER can provide strong local capabilities backed by their global organization to support our growth."
"We're quite pleased that CIBER's contributions have been so widely endorsed by TeleTracking, its customers, and industry experts," said Orryn Sledge, CIBER's Microsoft Practice Leader and the Engagement Manager for the TeleTracking account. "TeleTracking is the market leader and we are excited to have been selected to lead this initiative and share in their vision."
CIBER's IT outsourcing services have been widely recognized. In June, the Brown-Wilson Group, which authors The Black Book of Outsourcing, a best-selling international outsourcing resource manual, ranked CIBER eighth worldwide in the "2007 Top Ten Global IT Outsourcing Vendors" list. The Brown-Wilson Group annually surveys CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, and other business decision-makers at Fortune 2000 and Inc. 500 organizations to understand users' experience with global outsourcing service providers. The rankings were covered in a June 15, 2007, article in the Wall Street Journal.
TeleTracking has more than 650 hospital clients throughout North America. Installation of TeleTracking's product suite at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill., saved $300,000 in its first year, and is forecast to save more than $1.3 million in the next three years.
