CCID Consulting's latest data shows that sales volume has reached 7.462 million sets in 2007Q3, up 18.1% over 2006Q3 in China's PC market, and the sales revenue has reached 38.25 billion Yuan, up 10.8% year-on-year. Notebook is still the main growth momentum for PCs.

Desktop prices affected by several factors; secure applications have great potential
The data in CCID Consulting's Research Report on China's Desktop in 2007Q3 shows that the sales volume reached 5.678 million sets, up 12.4% year-on-year; the sales revenue reached 23.07 billion Yuan, up 3% year-on-year. Affected by the impact of low-end notebook's competitive price and summer promotions, the price of the dual-core desktop has taken an obvious downward trend.
Lenovo is still the biggest brand in desktop market.
As the most rapidly developing international manufacturer, HP's sales revenue is up with a 58.4% year-on-year growth rate and occupies the third place in the market. HP accounts for 6.9% of the total market. Tongfang accounts for 6.7% of the total market.
As for desktop's computer configuration, consumers have been paying attention to the dual-core processor, large-sized screens, large memory and HD. Dual core CPUs have become the market mainstream and the market share of 19- inch LCDs has been growing rapidly. User demand on security is very urgent and manufacturers have launched a new generation of PCs to cater to the demand. The secure PC's market has a bright future.
Competition is heating up; brand patterns need to be re-adjusted.
The data in CCID Consulting's Research Report on China's Notebook Computers in 2007Q3 show that the sales volume of China's notebook market reached 1.626 million sets; the sales revenue reached 12.29 billion Yuan. Thanks to increasing demand during the summer, the notebook computer market developed rapidly. Lenovo's launch of its 3,999-Yuan notebook computer lead main manufacturers to launch their own low-price products. The competition in the low-end market is heating up and bringing with it a greater impact on the desktop market.
As for the brand market, the five top brands' sales revenues account for 72.3% of the total market. Lenovo is the top brand with its revenue accounting for 33.5% of the total market. As for the sales volume, Acer exceeds Dell and lists at fourth place. Acer's sales volume accounts for 8.7% and Dell accounts for 8.6% of the total market. With the competition heating up, Dell has decided to cooperate with GOME, to develop its retail market. Acer keeps upper growth speed in the consumer market and has acquired Gateway in 2007Q3. Acer will have a breakthrough in the international market. Although Gateway is still at a primary stage in China's market, its effect can't be ignored. Through the manufacturers' adjusting climate, China's notebook computer market faces new changes.
Quad-core chip brings new opportunities for PC servers.
The data in CCID Consulting's Research Report on China's PC Server in 2007Q3 shows that the sales volume of China's server market has reached 158,000 sets, up 12.9% over 2007Q2 and up 15.3% over 2006Q3; the sales revenue is 2.89 billion Yuan, up 9.1% over 2007Q2 and up 13.3% over 2006Q3.
