LOS ALTOS, Calif., Dec. 19 /PRNewswire/ — Radiance Technologies, the leading provider of digital asset delivery systems, today announced the latest version of its TrueDelivery(R) Asset Delivery System. Radiance Technologies TrueDelivery 4.5 offers enterprise users a rich set of product enhancements including open-standards APIs, greater data throughput, increased scalability, and new management capabilities. Enterprises deploy the TrueDelivery asset delivery system software into existing process workflows on existing servers and desktops to provide a workflow-based delivery system through an overlay network that optimizes network resources and bandwidth. As a result, geographically dispersed teams can send, receive, track and collaborate on large, time-critical and mission-critical videos, graphical documents, images, and other enterprise files and data online. The new Collaboration Node Extension module and TrueDelivery SOA adapter for BEA WebLogic 10 (NASD: BEAS) allow enterprises to implement a completely automated delivery-workflow process and rapid integration into a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) system. TrueDelivery 4.5 is available as either a managed service fully supported by Radiance or as licensed software supported by the customer.

The throughput and overall performance of TrueDelivery have been boosted to realize faster file validation, faster generation of delivery notifications, and faster updates of file metadata — which is key in many process workflows. These enhancements, in tandem with TrueDelivery 4.5's patented bandwidth-optimization technology, set TrueDelivery apart from competitive "best efforts" technologies in use today.

New network management capabilities and an enhanced management interface allow network administrators to simplify the creation and management of a network of servers, between users at each work location. In addition, a variety of powerful client search functions have been added to TrueDelivery, and administrators can now perform batch operations for client creation, email address changes, and other changes to client attributes.

"Radiance's software-based asset delivery system allows us to more effectively deliver thousands of our customers' TV commercials to cable MSOs," said TelAmerica's vice president of technology, Andy Brown. "The ability to accomplish all of this over the Internet securely by using TrueDelivery 4.5's patented bandwidth optimization technology allows even the largest video files to move over our network to the cable operators we serve, so we no longer have to rely on shipping large tapes by overnight mail. This saves time and money and streamlines the service to speed time to market for our advertisers and our affiliates receiving the digital spots."

New Enhancements for Ease of Use, More Granularity in Alerts

Additional specifications and enhancements improve system scalability, management, and granularity in the way large files can be delivered.

1. Server APIs are now open standards-based and compatible with SOAP, XML, and Web Services 2. TrueDelivery now includes the Courier OnRamp Engine and an open standards-based XML Client software development kit to allow integration of TrueDelivery into existing desktop tools or applications 3. Collaboration Node Extension (CNE) enhancements automate TrueDelivery's Track, Publish and Subscribe systems for folder-based asset-delivery workflow processes 4. The TrueDelivery distribution center is now load-balanced and provides enhanced system management tools 5. Web Courier, a browser-based TrueDelivery client user interface, eliminates the need for a stand-alone application 6. TrueDelivery can now support a large number of clients with enhanced email notification and tracking triggers as required by Fortune 100 companies 7. An optional TrueDelivery SOA adapter enables a seamless interface to BEA WebLogic 8. Optional TrueDelivery sender plug-ins enable users of Apple Final-Cut Pro and Adobe Creative Suite to send large files directly from within those applications, eliminating the need to switch to any TrueDelivery clients to send their files

"For this release of TrueDelivery, we engineered new features in close collaboration with customers, some of the world's largest aerospace, automotive, broadcasting and manufacturing firms, to ensure that TrueDelivery remained the world's leading digital asset delivery solution," said Tom Engdahl, CEO of Radiance Technologies. "Existing customers and new users are finding that TrueDelivery 4.5 offers unparalleled benefits in productivity, network utilization, data security, and regulatory compliance."
