SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ — Sonoa Systems, Inc., an innovative provider of appliances that offer simplicity, control and performance for service-oriented architecture (SOA) runtime governance, today announced that it has become a member of the HP Governance Interoperability Framework (GIF). Sonoa Systems' ServiceNet, a Service Delivery Controller (SDC) for runtime policy enforcement, will support the necessary standards for interoperability to enter the GIF program.

"As the leader in SOA and Web Services policy enforcement, Sonoa Systems is pleased to support HP GIF," said Ajay Patel, Senior Vice President, Business Development at Sonoa Systems. "HP's work with Sonoa Systems in both HP GIF and as an eMAP partner validates the tremendous value our customers receive from ServiceNet."

ServiceNet provides runtime governance and policy enforcement in a purpose-built appliance, dramatically reducing the operational complexity and costs of enforcing policies in a distributed SOA or Web services environment. As a network-based appliance, ServiceNet provides a single point of control for managing and enforcing policies, allowing greater control over versioning and provisioning without the need for custom application code. All required policies can be configured and monitored from one place, and policies are enforced without affecting application throughput.

"As SOA and Web Services proliferate, enterprises must create a cost-effective operational and enforcement model to govern these new services," said Avrami Tzur, vice president, SOA Software, HP. "With ServiceNet supporting the HP GIF, HP and Sonoa Systems technology offer a solution from design-time to run-time for all of a customer's policy design, deployment and enforcement requirements."

About ServiceNet

ServiceNet introduces a network-based virtual services layer for any services-based application environment. Since all operational concerns are addressed in the virtual services layer instead of in application code across multiple silos, the degree of complexity and amount of change required are significantly reduced in each application. In addition, ServiceNet provides greater flexibility and agility for operations, so changes can be made without complex application deployment procedures. By separating operational concerns from application development, operation teams can ensure maximum performance-24 hours a day, seven days a week-in the application environment. ServiceNet provides a single control point for:

— Authentication, authorization, data protection, and credential mapping — Governance, logging, auditing, and compliance enforcement — SLA monitoring, rate limiting, load balancing and content-based routing — Fault isolation and management
