Centrify Expands Engineering Management to Lead Centrify Technology Innovations

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Centrify Corporation, a leading provider of Microsoft Active Directory-centric identity management solutions for Linux, UNIX and Mac, today announced the addition of Maxine Erlund as vice president of product development. Erlund will manage Centrify's worldwide development and quality assurance teams for Centrify's flagship DirectControl solution. Erlund brings over 24 years of leadership experience to her role at Centrify including director of engineering at Sun for Java Compatibility. She most recently served as vice president of engineering at Applied Identity. Centrify has also promoted Mike Patnode to vice president of technology. Patnode will apply his 20 years of solution architecture and product development experience to creating advanced product features for Centrify solutions and extending Centrify technology into new channels including OEMs and strategic partners. Both Erlund and Patnode will report to Centrify co-founder and vice president of engineering, Adam Au.

Before joining Centrify, Erlund held management roles at three security solution providers: she was vice president of engineering at Applied Identity and PacketMotion; and prior to that, she was senior director of engineering at Securify. Previously, Erlund held director and senior management positions at Sun which included responsibility for Java Security, Networking and Naming. While at Sun she was also responsible for the award winning, $60M/year Netra i and Netra j product lines. Her career includes engineering roles at Informix, Tandem and ROLM. Erlund received her Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from U.C. Berkeley and her Master's degree in Engineering Management from Santa Clara University.

Mike Patnode has been director of engineering and senior architect at Centrify for over four years. Previously he was vice president of system architecture at Wells Fargo and has held management and architect roles at Netscape and SCO. Mike received his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Cal Poly and spent a year at the MIT X Consortium developing multimedia network protocols.
