@wiggledbits find a handheld smart device (root/admin access ~ smart device) If No Root Access ~ Dumb device as you will be limited what you can and can not do. With that said, most of these devices will let you save a .html or .htm file. Put these on a Micro SD card and review them from that device. I could do this with my Nokia N800 back in 2006, sadly Nokia seems to have abandoned open for proprietary.

If considering Android, make sure the hand-held does not have Proprietary chip-sets that prevent you from configuring the software you need to work. I can create a .PDF (if need be) from Within LibreOffice. I can read that .PDF with evince (Open Document reader software). I can also put links in Documents and Spreadsheets with LibreOffice (was using OpenOffice in the past)

The point is you do not need to kill trees and print it out and having the ability to copy/paste to a Micro SSD Card (which can be put into either a USB Adapter or Micro SD Adapter - Kingston is a great source). Just make sure you use open data formats and you can read these files on a handheld, netbook, laptop, desktop, etc...

If you want to really turn you script into a daemon and have it detach from the tty, here is an easy way:
(name_of_script.sh &) &

The double background (&) is the key. Pretty sure I found this in the ABS Guide. Worked great for what I needed.

Thanks again, Jerry. I've created some long running daemonized scripts using these same methods. I've picked up extra knowledge from this article regarding using (easily read) config files that make my daemon scripts easier to move from server to server.

Only one more installment of "Wizard" left? Say it ain't so, Joe, er, ah, Jerry!

Hello,

We have kerberos/AFS and ssh opens login shells so I am unable to work. Also my shell is ksh and hope that it should behave same as bash as far as doing supsend key strokes but ~^Z did not work. I had to type suspend in ssh session to get the notification that its login shell.
About the only thing I would ask for in addition to the article is a link to printer a friendly format. I have to pull this type of stuff off to read when I go to get something to eat. There are no such things a a real lunch break here so reading at my desk is impossible.
