PIKA adds support for CAS, including MFR2, to its high-level API and Asterisk channel driver

As a result, CAS is now also available to applications built on the Asterisk open-source platform using PIKA hardware.

As a result, CAS is now also available to applications built on the Asterisk open-source platform using PIKA hardware.

CAS uses routing information to carry the payload in voice and data transmissions on the same channel rather than requiring a separate channel. CAS/MFR2 is the signalling standard in Latin America. Until now, support for CAS in commercial-grade Asterisk-built applications has not been available. Now, the full range of PIKA's analog and digital boards can be used to deploy applications where CAS is required.

Developers using PIKA's high-level application programming interface GrandPrix will now find support for the CAS protocol for TDM channels, whether using board-based or host-based media processing. Customer applications will be able to initiate, receive, transfer and terminate CAS calls, as well as be able to connect and disconnect a CAS channel to or from any other channel in the system.
