nice tool. I have recently written very similar tools. IOprofiler based on the strace as well and ioreplay, that actually can reaply the IO traces. The IOprofiler has integrated histogram and access pattern plotting. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Sorry for not continuing on your code, but I think it really should be written in C (at least the replaying part) instead of Perl. Moreover it is now a bit more robust.
