DynamicOps&apos Multi-vendor Virtual Management Capabilities Extend From Server to Desktop Environments at VMworld

BURLINGTON, Mass., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- DynamicOps, a venture-funded Credit Suisse spinoff, will show how its Virtual Resource Manager (VRM) software automates the delivery and management of virtual desktop machines in a multi-vendor environment at VMworld 2008.

BURLINGTON, Mass., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ — DynamicOps, a venture-funded Credit Suisse spinoff, will show how its Virtual Resource Manager (VRM) software automates the delivery and management of virtual desktop machines in a multi-vendor environment at VMworld 2008.

At the conference, DynamicOps will demonstrate new multi-vendor capabilities for automated self-service provisioning of virtual desktops that are hosted in VMware's Virtual Infrastructure, but are delivered via Citrix XenDesktop.

"Multi-vendor desktop virtualization environments are a reality today, and they must be managed and maintained efficiently," explained Mick Hollison, vice president of product management, Desktop Delivery Group, Citrix Systems, Inc. "Our work with DynamicOps shows how a solution like VRM can accelerate the adoption of virtual desktops by reducing deployment and management costs."

The automated management of desktop virtualization helps companies rapidly deploy needed compute resources to maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace. Innovations such as VRM are rapidly accelerating virtual desktop deployments, helping enterprises experience the high value and competitive advantages they can deliver to large enterprises.

"Many of our customers already have significant Citrix and VMware deployments," said DynamicOps CEO Rich Krueger. "VRM helps them retain their existing software investments and make their multi-vendor environments work effectively. VRM's automated service delivery capability plans, creates, manages, tracks, and reports on all assets in their virtual infrastructure."

VRM automates the planning, deployment and management of virtual servers and desktops, from the time they're created until they're retired. Using VRM, enterprises deliver and manage virtual machines independent of the hypervisor, connection broker, and image deployment technology, all through a single console. This capability is critical for endpoint virtualization, where products from multiple vendors such as Citrix, Microsoft and VMware need to work seamlessly together to deliver reliable, high quality virtual desktops in a cost-effective fashion.
