We'll miss you Jason - I've enjoyed your column - well at least the last two or three years of it. You'll be a hard act to follow.
Although I had seen people playing with Linux at work, and actually had an account that I never used, 1999 was my first real introduction to Linux when my new Gateway computer came with the Corel Linux distribution on 3 CDROMs and with a handful of thick, nicely published, paperback manuals. The distro was lousy, but it was an attempt to address the desktop, and it was a great introduction, warts and all, for a newbie, soon to be enthusiast!

Boy I thought that after the print mag went belly up, there would be no LM anymore. Thank god i was wrong!. Yes, dear Jason. You were the wittiest, and funniest linux art writer ever. Thank God, that the mag will continue online. I am now going to go through and print all the articles that have been published since the end of the paper subscription. And all future ones, Since there may be a time when that will go too(I hope Not!) So, Jason coming back 1 day to the mag would be like a Beatles reunion(Or Led Zeppelin or U2? if they break up 1 day. Anyway, all the other regulars are in that category as well.

So yes, you are all our friends, staunch linux supporters in spirit, but also sanely practical.
The good thing,no, great thing about LM is, and continues to be the right mix of Linux advocacy , Linux legal protection, with falling over funny humour, and just enough Linux + other platforms practicality.

So long live the champion of Linux support, and the best darn linux mag ever!

take care,
