I did a \'fairer\' test on my machine(2.4GHz centrino Pro) with both O10 and Cr
O10: 3363 msec
Cr: 643 msec

but the actual run times for the total test:
O10: 1:38
Cr: 2:46

Yes, that\'s 1 minute and 8 seconds faster for Opera10!

The integrated mail is rather a plus, it has a very fast (compared to Thunderbird) search. And it automatically sorts the mail per contact. (it would be nice though if we could add more \'sorting\' constraints e.g. company, project etc.)

I like Opera very much.

I\'ve been using since 2001 and a couple of milisecs wont change my choice.

Opera\'s features where copied along this years, so you must recognize that and remember that speed is not the only criteria to measure a browser.

Opera Synchronization (of bookmarks, etc.) across multiple machines is a huge advantage.

I just tested Chrome (latest nightly release) on Ubuntu Linux against \'What the Internet knows about you\', and it actually discloses my history

\"Chrome has speed and focus on the features that matter the very most to users.\"

Besides Incognito mode and the cheap copy they made of Operas speed dial, what features are you talking about? themes? what an innovation!!

\"the company would do well to jettison mail and IRC support and focus hard on its core Web browser.\"

So that Opera has as many features as Chrome, right?

\"Opera feels like a kitchen sink approach to the Web.\"

Did you ever try to use a kitchen that did not have a sink? Or without a stove and a fridge?

I can\'t live without Link (especially among my PC\'s, Linus netbook, and Treo 755p), built-in BitTorrent, and click-to-capture custom searches in the address bar.

Unite looks promising--I have not tried it.

But the must-have stealth sleeper is the mail agent M2. There is nothing else like it. It is so good that Google copied it for Google Mail. I couldn\'t live without it. Unfortunately, it is vastly underrated, underused, and overlooked by many. It is like dulse: if you haven\'t tried it, you won\'t like it, so it has not caught on widely.

I have been using Opera since 2002 and have tried all the new and updated browsers on Kubuntu (my main), and my Windows machine. Opera flies along nicely on both. I used Firefox for a year on another Linux box and found it to be a pain at times over the little things. I too can live with a few milliseconds. If I add them up I could get to bed a tad earlier with Chrome, but where\'s the fun?
