Great post and thanks for sharing the details. we at Endeavour did similar work for our customer who is into distracted driving, 10n2 Tek, on iOS, Android and Windows Phone platforms but knowing the same on Linux is a great help.

I imagine that we are all entitled to our own thoughts and opinions and that’s a wonderful thing. Having said that, I only agree with some of the things that you mentioned in your posting. The factors that I fully don’t agree with you on don’t fit my common sense.

I like query of @mitcoes. What about speech to text? We are working on multiple platforms including android too. I will ask to my team for checking about given examples. Generally we are working on remote database monitoring and other applications but our company also starting android and java development.

simple question.. i’ve been googling and reading for bout an hour now.. is there away to make this completely invisible.. when i run it in the emulator i do get visual response when reading the message.. just have it speak without interrupting current task, ie reading, webpage, game, ect.. thanks for your help, this is the starting point i’ve been searing for :)

What about Speech to text? Is the oldest tech i know is not at the 2normal” computer use it should be.

When the star treck Universal translator would become real instead of sci fi?

With a good speech to text, google translatro – or other – and text to speech combined world communications will be better, because not everybody can speak several languages.
